Feasibility study for metro rail underway: Mayor Shakya

Kathmandu, August 12: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya has committed to construct the metro rail in Kathmandu valley.

Speaking in a programme organized by Buddhist Women Group here today, Mayor Shakya shared that they were conducting feasibility study for the same.

He further stated the railway service was essential to lessen traffic jam in the valleyand that the ongoing road, drainage and other infrastructures construction will be completed after Melamchi project.
Speaking in the programme, International Youth Monk Federation vice chair TapaswiDhamma urged concerned authority to intensify the rebuilding of cultural heritages destroyed by earthquake in the valley.

Deputy Mayor Hariprabha Khadgi opined that there was no possibility of social transformation unless women were empowered.

On the occasion, as many as 65 students of Baudhhabari area were feted.
